Reflection on NHD
My NHD topic was "Sheltering Fever Orphans".In my group there were three people.NHD was a good experience. I have a complete understanding of what a Primary and Secondary Source is and how to create a annotated bibliography. It's nice to know that I've learned something that some people don't do until their first year in college. I've also learned that its not always the best thing to work with your friends on a big project such as NHD. The hardest thing to do for NHD was finding a large variety of primary sources. The Mother Bethel Church was a big help with providing us with one valuable source: the rent book. NHD wasn't as hard as people made it seem to be. One thing I think that should be changed is that we should start the NHD project much earlier since we spend so much time finding research. With more time we can split the process half and half : we can find sources for the first half and the second half we can start conducting our project. One bad thing about the project was we had restrictions on our topic: our topic had to have some connection to Philadelphia. It would have been better if we could choose anything we wanted. NHD isn't something I would want to repeat doing every year.
