Service Learning 5/9

At last weeks meeting we began to watch a video documentary on Darfur. We reflected on how our progress was going on the assignments we were given. We learned alot about Darfur. Every week we learn more information about the devastation in Darfur. I learned how much people here in the United States should be grateful for the things they have and how safe they are compared to how the people in Darfur are living.

Reflection on Service Learning 5/1

At our meeting we talked about different ways of making people aware of the genocide in Darfur. We also talked about different fundraising methods to raise money for t-shirts and rist bands to sell. The group leaders brought up an idea on going to other schools and making presentaions to make people aware and reading books about Darfur to children in elementary schools. Memebers of the group also volunteered to wrtie letters to advise people about what we our doing, making a imovie presentation on whats happening in Darfur, and finding books we can read to students in other schools to make them aware.
